I
graduated magna cum laude from New York University School
of Law in 1999 and am licensed to practice law in Oregon,
Pennsylvania and New York. I am a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, and the National
Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA). Before opening my own practice in Portland, I spent eight years as a staff attorney at a non-profit law firm in Philadelphia which provided free legal assistance to low-income clients.
I
enjoy developing a relationship with each client. This means
that I handle all my cases personally. My clients talk to me,
not a paralegal or assistant.
I
understand that my clients may feel stressed, and I strive to
address their concerns in a prompt and respectful manner. My
goal is to keep my clients up-to-date about their case and to
return all calls or emails within one business day.
It
is also very important to me that my clients understand their
case and the legal processes involved. From our first meeting, I
encourage my clients to ask me questions. I also have a blog, Lawsense, where I talk about some of the nuts and bolts of the
law - the things that lawyers take for granted, but that may be
unfamiliar or confusing to the average person.
